During my internship at the West Elementary School in Tooele, Utah I created and designed a langauge proficiency test in order to test what level of proficiency the students have reached in their second language German. Due to the collaboration with the teachers I was hence able to carry out the test in three grades, i.e 3rd, 4th and 5th grade. 

In a nutshell, according to the scores achieved, the results of this test signify that there a clear-cut enhancement from grade 3 to 5, however, even though the immersion program aims for a  monlingual setting, it will probably be difficult to create a natural setting where the level of proficiency of a native speaker can be reached.
